The Arcola Covenant Community exists to partake in the movement of the gospel where personal conversion and community transformation are experienced in the covenant relationship between God and God's people and there evidenced in our relationship to the world.

The Arcola Covenant Community is to ignite the gospel in such tangible measure where each individual is delighted in, where each group is committed to, where our community can enable communities locally and globally by meeting needs physically, spiritually, emotionally, partaking in the redemptive work of God everywhere we're called.

A Covenant, like a marriage, is built upon issues of: 'entrusting, union, safety, security, closeness, radical acceptance, significance.' Different from a contract where conformity to a code and set of rules is basic, A Covenant embraces loyalty to a person at its core. As such, it is unique in that there are no clear cut conditional clauses that render it void. Further, a Covenant is not so much a declaration of love in the present, but more so a promise of love in the future; a promise to be tender, faithful, caring, etc. The promise at the heart of a Covenant is: "No matter what else takes place in our lives in my relationship to you...I will be there and I will be for you." This is the very heart of Christ to the church and there, our much needed words for one another in and further outside of our community.
